This position is responsible for organizing all volunteers of the Students Union through email and face to face communication. The will have to be involved in managing our volunteer list to keep students engaged in the Students Union. Time will be spent in ways such as planning events, rallying and encouraging volunteers throughout the year as well as appreciation nights for our volunteers. The candidate will need to keep up to date on events and need for volunteers for our organization and send regular email updates. The successful candidate will be expected to be well informed on events happening within the organization, enthusiastic about upcoming events, and skilled at time management as the need for volunteers is time sensitive.
The commitment will be 20 hours a month although is expected to vary throughout the year with the busiest times being September and January.
The applicant must be a full time or part time student at the University of Lethbridge and have a good relationship with students on campus. They must strive to always be meeting new people and thus recruiting them into the volunteer core. It will be there responsibly to do this without needing the reminding from the executive. The ideal candidate would have a good relationship with the Students Union and various clubs on campus. The candidate would be expected to have experience in managing volunteers, event planning and organization. The candidate must be able to take on their own tasks and continually check in with the executive to make sure all needs are being met.
$250 a month for 20 hour a month commitment. The position will run from October 1st to April 30th.
